Last weekend was one of those rare and perfect weekends—balanced between relaxation and a little adventure. It started on Saturday morning when I woke up a little later than usual, around 9:00 AM. The sun was already streaming through my curtains, painting the room in soft, golden hues. I decided to skip the usual rush and let the day unfold on its own.
I made a leisurely breakfast—scrambled eggs with spinach, avocado toast, and a steaming cup of coffee. I ate at the kitchen table while scrolling through my phone, catching up on messages and reading a few chapters of a book I’d meant to finish. The quiet of the morning felt so peaceful, especially since the previous week had been hectic.
Around noon, I met some friends for lunch at a new café downtown. The place was cozy, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light. We sat by the window, sipping iced lattes and chatting about everything from work to travel plans. It felt good to laugh, share stories, and just enjoy being with people who make you feel at ease.
After lunch, we decided to take a walk in the nearby park. The weather was perfect—sunny but not too hot—and we spent a couple of hours meandering through the pathways, watching kids play and dogs chase after frisbees. It was the kind of afternoon that made me realise how much I missed spending time outside.
On Sunday, I decided to do something I hadn’t done in a while: solo adventure. I packed a small bag, grabbed my camera, and drove out to a nature reserve outside the city. It was a place I’d passed by many times but never stopped at. The trails were quiet, and the air smelled fresh with pine and wildflowers. I hiked for a few hours, pausing to take photos of the landscape and the wildlife. There’s something about being surrounded by nature that makes everything feel simpler and clearer.
I returned home late in the afternoon, tired but content. The rest of the evening was spent unwinding—ordering pizza, watching a movie, and reflecting on how good it felt to have such a peaceful weekend. It was one of those rare weekends that left me feeling recharged, ready to face the week ahead.
